  Concord adalah persusuaian antara Subject dan Auxiliary verb atau ordinary verb.

     Menentukan subject jamak atau tunggal dalam frase.

   a. Noun + Preposition + Noun (lihat noun sebelum Preposition)

E.g ( contoh ) :

      - The source of many accidents on the high ways is the careless driver.

      - Most of the citizen's objections are triggered by the unjust treatment on them.

   b. Some + Preposition + uncountable nouns (dianggap singular)

E.g :

      - Some of the coffee is bought by her.

      - Some of the sugar is needed by us now.

   c. Some + Preposition + plural nouns

E.g :

      - Some of the students are discussing now.

      - Some of my friends were crying.

   d. Neither ......nor......

    Either.........or........

(lihat subject setelah nor / or)

E.g :

       - Neither they or I am lazy.

       - Either I or you are diligent.

   e. Frase gerund + (O) (tergantung berapa banyak gerund yang digunakan)

E.g :

       - Singing many songs is my hobby.

       - Making many handcrafts needs patience.

       - Studying and practicing make perfect.

   f. A number of plural nouns (beberapa) - jamak

   The number of plural nouns (jumlah) - tunggal

E.g :

       - A number of boys are studying now.

       - The number of boys is 97.

   g. Perhatikan irregular (tidak beraturan) plural  nouns.

    - man - men                                           - child - children

    - woman - women                                 - person - people

    - louse - lice                                           - policewoman - policewomen

    - goose - geese                                       - mouse - mice

    - deer - deer                                           - police (selalu plural)

    - policeman - policemen                        - fish - fish

    - etc.

E.g :

       - His children are studying.

       - Our police are kind and honest.

       - Those women are our neighbor.

        An expression of quantity (e.g : one, several, many, much) bisa mendahului sebuah noun (kata benda). Tetapi beberapa expression of quantity digunakan hanya dengan countable nouns (benda yg dapat dihitung), hanya beberapa saja yang digunakan dengan uncountable nouns (benda yang tidak dapat dihitung).

Catatan :

- A few dan few digunakan dengan plural count nouns (kata benda plural yang dapat dihitung). a few bermakna positif dan sebaliknya, few bermakkna negatif.

E.g :

      - I bought a few houses.

      - I bought  few house.

- A little dan little digunakan dengan uncountable nouns (tidak bisa dihitung). A little bermakna positif dan little bermakna negatif.

E.g :

      - She has a little experience.

      - She has a little experience.
