                Conjunction adalah kata yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan hal – hal yang setara atau pun tidak setara.

   Compound conjunction adalah conjunction yang menghubungkan hal – hal yang setara.

                - Adjective conjunction Adjective

                - Noun conjunction Noun

                - Adverb conjunction Adverb

                - Verb conjunction Verb

                - Main clause conjunction Main clause

     Macam – Macam Compound Conjunction :

                1. Coordinative Conjunction

                2. Correlative Conjunction

                Note :

                Setara => setara secara struktur

1. Coordinative Conjunction

                Coordinative Conjunction adalah conjunction yang terdiri dari 1 kata.

Anggota  : F A N B O Y S

For And Nor But

: Karena : Dan : Dan ... tidak : Tetapi

Or Yet So

: Atau : Tetapi : Sehingga

Note :

And, but, or        : menghubungkan antar word, phrase, clause.

For, so, yet, nor  : hanya menghubungkan antar clause.

For, so, yet         : penulisannya didahului koma.

Nor                     : terdapat pola inversi (susun balik)

                E.g :

                - Siska can go to Malang on Friday or Saturday.

                - Ulin is friendly and (patient / patiently)

                - Zika is generous but Lika is stingy.

                - He is so handsome but rather crazy.

                - Iza is kind and he is not arrogant.   /

                Iza is kind nor is he arrogant. (inversi)

2. Correlative Conjunction

                Correlative Conjunction adalah conjunction yang berpasangan.

Anggota  :

a) Both ... and...	(baik ... maupun ...)
b) Not only ... but also ...	(tidak hanya ... tetapi juga ...)
c) Either ... or ...     Whether	(jika bukan ... berarti ...)
d) Neither ... nor ...	(baik ... maupun ...tidak)

                Ket I : Menghubungkan antar Subjek.

                # untuk “a” selalu bertemu Verb plural.

                # untuk “b, c, d” Verb mengikuti Subjek yang ke-2.

  E.g :

                1. Both Olan and Dimas (is / are) polite.

                2. Not only Ade but also Kina (is / are) from Bali.

                3. Either Sila or Nara (like / likes) banana.

                4. Neither Wulan nor her friends (go / goes) shopping.

               

                Ket II : Menghubungkan antar Clause.

                # untuk “ Not only ... but also ... dan Neither ... nor ...” terdapat inversi.

POLA :	Not only V + S but also S + V
	Neither V + S nor V + S

   E.g : Tidak hanya Lutfi itu tampan tetapi juga dia kaya.

                Not only Lutfi is handsome but also he is rich.

                B. Complex Conjunction

    Complex conjunction adalah conjunction yang menghubungkan hal – hal yang tidak setara.

                Anggota : semua conjunction kecuali compound conjunction.

                                Because, after, if, when, who, ....

Pola :

S + V complex conjunction S + V            Subordinate conj______ ____    ___________________ MC          SC

   MC    : Main Clause

   SC      : Sub Clause

    E.g :    Bobi menangis karena Kella menangis.

                Bobi cries because Kella cries.
