    Parallel Structures adalah kesejajaran atau kesesuaian dalam suatu kalimat.

Beberapa peraturan dalam parallel structures :

     1. Suatu rangkaian dalam suatu kalimat, apa saja yang dirangkai harus dalam bentuk (funsi) grammatical yang sama :

   Nouns          : He likes music, art and history.

   Gerunds       : He likes swimming, singing and dancing.

   Adjective      : He is tall, handsome and kind.

  Infinitive        : They want to pant, to lay a new carpet and to but buy a new sofa.

  Past Tense    : I ate, drank and slept last night.

  Noun Phrase : He enjoyed the music of Spain and the sculpture of France.

   2. Not only X1 but also X2 (auxiliary / verb sesuai X2)

   - Not only you but also she is angry.

   - Not only she but also you are angry.

   - He is not only rich but also humble.

   - He does not only like swimming but also running.

   - He writes not only correctly but also neatly.

    3. X1, as well X2, ..... (auxiliary / verb sesuai X1)

   - The teacher, as well as his students, is going abroad.

   - The teachers, as well as his students, are going abroad.

    4. But, as, or, than, although, as...as, the same as, similar to, both... and...., either ..or..., neither....nor... (harus dalam bentuk grammatical yang sama)

  - Running is the same as swimming.

  - Singing is more difficult than dancing.

  - Neither you nor I am studying English.

  - Either she or he will not go to anywhere tomorrow.

  - Tono is as tall as Andi.

  - Both she and he are going to get married.

  - Keeping is harder than getting.
